Parys & Vredefort Dome

Parys is a small town situated on the banks of the Vaal River in the Free state province of South Africa. The name of the town is the Afrikaans translation of Paris. The name was given by a German surveyor named Schilbach who had participated in the Siege of Paris during the Franco-Prussian War and the location next to the Vaal reminded him of Paris on the River Seine. This town attracts hundreds of visitors over weekends and have a large variety of antique shops and restaurants.

The Vredefort Dome is the largest and oldest known meteor impact sites in the world. This impact structure bears witness to the greatest known single energy release event on earth and was listed a world heritage site in 2005.

Vaal de Grace is an 18-hole signature Nick Price golf course that is ideal for average players right up to professional players and is only an hours' drive from Johannesburg. There is a splendid river running through Vaal de Grace and the area offers plenty of natural flora, fauna, and birdlife to enjoy including fish eagles, impala, springbok, and mongooses.

The villa is located on the north-facing bank of the Vaal River, and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests. The villa comprises three en-suite bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge and dining area, and an undercover patio with outdoor furniture and braai facilities.

River access for fishing is available via gabion steps and two kayaks are provided for canoeing on the river.
