Snymanshof Lodge


The farm is 720 ha (1780 acres), situated in the North-West province about 100km South-West of Johannesburg - only 36km west of Vanderbijlpark.
The farm has exemption permits (rifle-hunting, no 00/000172NW14) and (bow-hunting, no 14/00216 NW).

Approximately 50% of Snymanshof is open grassveld and the other 50% is covered with koppies, various Akasia species, White Stinkwood, false Olive trees, Highveld Kiepersol, mountain meddler, Small Knobwood, Dogwood, Velvet Bush Willow, Blue Guarri Bush, Common Hook-thorn, Mountain Karree, Common Wild Pear, Puzzle Bush, Common Wild Currant, Ankle Thorn, Cork Bush, Jacket- plum, Koko Tree, Wild Medlar, Mountain Silver Oak, Sweet Thorn, Common Spike-thorn And Buffalo-thorn. Snymanshof is visited by both hunters and eco-tourists. Hikers and bird-watchers really enjoy spending many hours in the dense bush areas and koppies.

During 2009 a function hall, chapel and B & B facilities were erected. The chapel and function hall (with dance floor area) seat 170 guests. The dam, waterfall and dense bush areas are wonderful backgrounds for photo's.

Game species include: Buffalo, Blesbuck, White Blesbuck, Eland, Gemsbuck, Springbuck, Kudu, Njala, Redhart Beest, Zebra, Waterbuck, Impala, Buffalo, Bush Buck, Black Wildebeest and fellow deer.

During 2006 the Eland SA Record was hunted at Snymanshof (106.15%).

THABA THOLO (Berg van die Koedoe)
With a deck overlooking Snymanshof and the surrounding area to Parys and Potchefstroom, Thaba Tholo has 4 bedrooms, 2 and 1/2 bathrooms, open plan kitchen/lounge with solar light/fridge and gas geyser/stove. Fully furnished with braai boma.

A 4 bedroom facility next to the main lodge. Fully equipped with Eskom power and braai boma, two and a half bathrooms with open plan kitchen/lounge.

For hunting a vehicle, trackers and slaughtering facilities in a fully equipped slaughter room, including cold room is provided.
The bow hunters can choose between two hides overlooking water points.

Hiking & Mountain Biking
Professionally designed two day trails.
22 tree species have been identified e.g. Jacket Plum , Wild Pear and Koko Tree.

Lovely bush hut sleeps 12 - solar for lights and gas for burner, geyser and fridge – no cutlery, crockery or linen.
Come enjoy the pristine Highveld bush and encounter more than 13 species of game e.g. Kudu, Orix and Water Buffalo.
